Soft spot
Normally opting for a high-energy dancy number, film music works for me in a different way. Trance-like, the combination of emotive and narrative elements gets me good. Some people have it with heavy metal, for me delicate piano fingers’ll do it. This genre demands you feel it. By nature, it’s not just asking you to listen to it. It wants you to be part of it, to exist within it. Pretty neat. Like all our senses, hearing and listening are bloody important, keep eyes on The Diary for more on this.
For now, with rhythmic qualities similar to Yann Tiersen’s Amélie (2001) and Hans Zimmer’s The Holiday (2007), this delicate gem offers respite in easy listening form. Sit / lay / stand back and relax. Or get up and move with it. Whatever works, just be sure to take time out of your day to enjoy a moment for you. Get yourself in the groove and set the pace you want for the rest of your day. If this isn’t your genre no offence taken, try doing the same with one of your favourites.
